Here is my monthly offering of stewardship related things I hope you will find helpful and interesting!
Thank you again for all you and others in your congregation do to promote Mission & Service throughout the year. If you haven’t already heard, the deadline for receipt of 2017 Mission & Service gifts in the General Council Office is January 31, 2018. I’ve attached a document that outlines a number of transfer options other than mail, some of which are quicker, easier and more cost effective than cheques.M&S transfer options Jan 2018.docx
I hope you are finding the monthly Generosity, Giving and Gratitude Seasonal Ideas helpful. Attached please find both February 2018 February Generosity, Giving & Gratitude Ideas and January’s ideas. 2018 January Generosity Giving & Gratitude Ideas
I’ve been hearing good things from congregations that have used We Sing Thanksgiving. If your congregation did a congregational giving program (formerly known as a stewardship campaign) last year, and if you have a few minutes to respond, I’d love to know how it went. What parts of the program worked well? Did you meet your goals? Do you have comments and/or ideas for the development team? Watch for the 2018 Called to Be the Church – Loving Our Neighbours – program to arrive in your inbox in early February. For a sneak peak at the “logo” take at look at the artwork on this blog.
People have been asking for some Whole Life Stewardship resources. We know that being a Christian is not just about what we believe —it is a way of life! I Intend (program and workbook attached) gives individuals, groups or a whole congregation an opportunity to grow in their capacity to be disciples and followers of Jesus. The six week program, which focuses on the New Creed, helps people make practical choices in five areas of their lives to live more generously, faithfully and intentionally as followers of Jesus. A perfect Lenten Program. Here’s the I Intend Program I Intend_PROGRAM and the I Intend Workbook I Intend_WORKBOOK.
Here is a short video about the UCC’s refugee program. It includes an invitation to share your 2-3 minute video testimonies about how you and your church have became involved in working with refugees, and how this has impacted your faith and community.
Links to new offering invitations and prayers and Stewardship Seconds from now until May 20, 2018 can be found here on the Stewardship Toolkit. While you’re there please take a few moments to look at some of the other information … like the Mission & Service Spiritual Practices.

As you look ahead into 2018, how can I help you? Is it time to do another Planned Giving information session? How about a Mission & Service themed service? What about support for your next congregational giving program?
