I have an invitation for you. In our quest for engaging and helpful continuing education, the Canadian Theological Society is a resource for cutting-edge academic thought and rich debate. The Canadian Theological Society meets annually as part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. This year the meeting is in Regina.
CTS meets Sunday, May 27 to Tuesday, May 29. You can come and check out other academic societies, too: Congress meets May 26 – June 1.
The theme for the Canadian Theological Society for 2018 is “Gathering Diversities.” ‘Gathering’ evokes the idea of bringing people together in the spirit of building community. This theme honours the history of the area as a traditional place of gathering, evoked in Regina’s original name, Wascana, or oskana kâ-asastêki – where the bones are gathered, referring to the region’s heritage as buffalo hunting grounds for a multitude of Plains cultures.
It would be a great thing to have your theological reflections on papers given. And there’s tons of food for sermon thought. Please call me if you have questions!
You can register easily on site. Here’s the schedule: cts-stc.ca/2017/schedule-for-cts-annual-meeting
